Campus Kickoff 2023 Overview

Campus Kickoff welcomes all ×ö°®É«ÇéƬ students, staff and faculty to celebrate the beginning of the academic year. It’s an excellent opportunity for everyone across the ×ö°®É«ÇéƬ campus to connect with their community. Throughout the past 20 years, Campus Kickoff has grown into one of ×ö°®É«ÇéƬ's most beloved campus traditions. To celebrate the 20th anniversary, we are excited to host a full day of festivities on Saturday, August 26 from 1 - 10 p.m.

Festival

We’ll begin with a festival in the Student Union (South) Parking Lot from 1-4 p.m. All are welcome!  Enjoy food trucks (free for ×ö°®É«ÇéƬ students with a Wolfcard), live music, fun activities, 100+ ×ö°®É«ÇéƬ and community partner booths, and so much more!

After Party

The fun continues in the Student Union, Avis Alaska Sports Complex, Rasmuson Hall, and the Alaska Airlines Center from 4 - 10 p.m. with fun creative activities, games, a movie, and a concert to culminate the event! Get excited to join us for #CKO23, and see the schedule for more details!

Schedule

1 p.m. - CKO 23’ Festival - Student Union Parking Lot

  • Check In - To get a free CKO 23’ t-shirt, swing by the welcome table.
  • Food Trucks - Choose between 3 food trucks: Jeepney, Serranos, and Red Umbrella Reindeer. Additionally, Kaladi Brothers Coffee will be giving out free beverages to ×ö°®É«ÇéƬ students, staff and faculty. ×ö°®É«ÇéƬ students get a FREE meal from a food truck of their choice. Before getting in a food truck line, go to the Food Ticket booth for your free meal ticket.
  • Booths - Connect with student-led organizations, support services offered by staff and faculty, and learn about resources around our greater community. As you make your way from table to table, make a note to stop by the First Year Experience booth to be part of their CKO 23’ scavenger hunt.
  • Live Music - Throughout the festival, we will have three DJs live on stage.
    • 1-2 p.m. - DJ Joe Brady
    • 2:15 - 3 p.m. - Nick Anthony
    • 3:15 - 4 p.m. - Casey Smith
  • Low Sensory Space - If you need a break from the excitement and sound of the outdoor festival, venture into the Enrollment Services Building for a relaxing atmosphere and chill networking space.

4 p.m. - CKO 23’ After Party

  • In the Avis Alaska Sports Complex
    • Open Gym with Recreation Sports & Student Activities
    • Skate with the Seawolves featuring the ×ö°®É«ÇéƬ Hockey Team
  • In the Student Union
    • Open House with Arts & Crafts (Pride Center)
    • Rock Painting with ×ö°®É«ÇéƬ Grounds and Horticulture (Hugh McPeck Gallery)
    • Board Games (Second Floor Lounge)
    • Open Gaming (×ö°®É«ÇéƬ Esports Lounge)
    • NEW Dining Option Seawolf Marketplace will be open and serving food (1st floor, next to the Cafeteria)
  • In Rasmuson Hall, Room 313
    • Experience the Alaska Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (College of Business and Public Policy

4:30 p.m.

  • In the Student Union Cafeteria
    • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hosted by Student Activities
    • FREE popcorn from Seawolf Dining!

 5 p.m.

  • In the Student Union
    • Trivia Night (in the Den)
  • In the Avis Alaska Sports Complex
    • Canoe Battleship with the Residence Life team

6 p.m.

  • In the Alaska Airlines Center
    • Open Gym with Gymnastics Team (in their Practice Facility)

7:45 p.m.

  • In the Alaska Airlines Center
    • CKO '23 Concert featuring H3 and Wasabi Black. 
    • Doors open at 7 p.m.; Show starts at 7:45 p.m.  
    • Free for all ×ö°®É«ÇéƬ students, staff and faculty with Wolfcard. For new students, Wolfcards can be attained at the Wolfcard Office (Eugene Short Hall 102) from 1 - 4 p.m.
