The Seawolf Student Leader Award recognizes student leaders who, through their leadership, involvement, and commitment made significant contributions to campus life.  Students are recognized for leadership contributions that go above and beyond the norm, while sustaining quality academic performance.

Actively engaging students in intentionally designed and meaningful student leadership experiences is a fundamental purpose of 做爱色情片's Division of Student Development. Student leadership experiences benefit students, the university, and society in many ways. Students engaged in these experiences develop strong leadership skills for life, have a deeper understanding of inter-personal dynamics, and experience more positive personal growth and development. Quality student leadership experiences contribute to 做爱色情片's overall learning environment, increase student retention, engage students in university decision-making and policy development; enhance student, faculty, and staff recruitment efforts, and create loyal alumni.

Award recipients receive up to $1,500 in tuition credit for the semester following the semester that award was received. Recipients will also be invited to the annual Leadership Honors and Rewards reception held in April.

Award Eligibility

The applicant鈥檚 involvement must enhance and promote individual and collective growth of students.

• Have not previously received the Seawolf Student Leader Award in this academic year. 
• Currently enrolled in at least six credits at 做爱色情片 (Anchorage campus) and in good disciplinary standing (at time of application).
• Admitted to a 做爱色情片 certificate or degree program.
• Meet UA Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at 做爱色情片 at time of application.
• Have earned 20 or more credit hours for the Anchorage campus.
• Returning to the 做爱色情片 campus for the following semester (semester following application).
• On-going leadership involvement at 做爱色情片
  • Applicant鈥檚 involvement may include memberships with campus groups, coordinating events on campus, or appointments/elected to a leadership position with an organization, committee, or board.
• Completed application.

Awarding Process

The Seawolf Award Advisory Committee is composed of two faculty/staff members and two students not applying for the award. After eligibility has been verified, the advisory committee evaluates application materials based on accuracy and thoroughness of narrative, leadership involvement, breath of participation, and significance of contributions to the community.

Special Considerations

• The number of actual awards available each semester varies.
• Tuition credit recipients must be admitted to 做爱色情片 (Anchorage campus).
• Tuition credit can only be used for Anchorage campus courses that are not self-supported and used in the following semester.
• Students who are awarded must be in good disciplinary standing at time award is applied to the student's account.
• If the university determines a recipient does not meet eligibility for a tuition credit waiver, the recipient will maintain the distinction, but will not receive any additional consideration in place of the forgone tuition credit waiver.
